Mollymook is a residential and commercial hub so it has plenty of restaurants and cafés, and live music and performance can be had 6km away at the Milton Theatre.

As a classic “C” curve of a beach, Mollymook enjoys sheltered spots at either end. The surf here is usually at its best on a mid tide, but has been known to work on all tides when the sandbanks are favourable.

In a big swell, experienced surfers head to Golf Course Reef. The picture-perfect day here is about four metres with just a hint of southwest breeze on it. It’s a long-board and paddle-board favourite but well rip-able on a short board if you’re prepared to battle the larger board riders for a wave.

Gnarlier still is Ulladulla Bommie just to the south which you can surf to seven metres and beyond if super clean.
