Redhead Mobile Surf School
Redhead Mobile Surf School - // Australia's surfing coast //
|Miles Niddrie, the owner-operator of Redhead Mobile Surf School, grew up in a ski village in Scotland and when the family decamped to Newcastle in 1977 he swapped his skiing mojo for the surfer lifestyle. |
After starting out on a body-board he picked up an old thruster from Newcastle boy, and former Association of Surfing Professional tour hot-shot, Simon Law and set about learning the ways of the ocean.
|A visit back to Scotland in 2001 saw Miles meet up with a friend who was working as a skiing and wind-surfing instructor, and the idea of a mobile surf school in Newcastle began to take shape. |
Miles completed his level one surf coaching accreditation, adding a level two qualification under Australia’s master surf coach Martin Dunn in 2008.
He believes a mobile school is ideal for Newcastle, whose area beaches each offer something different for students, depending on wave conditions and their experience.
"I have different types of boards to challenge you once you have the basics mastered too. even experienced surfers can benefit from some coaching to improve their surfing."
